Madness

This poem came up while I was watching The Dark Knight (2008) this evening. The exact point is the anti-climax scene where Joker said “…madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity, all it takes is a little push…”

Don’t close your eyes, darling…

Just look at you…in the mirror…

What you see…you…no…no…

An impostor…yes…in the guise of you…

So…rip off…rip…off…

what you’re wearing…

Now hold the stem of the glass…no..no…

not your lips…throw…the wine…mirror…

now…light a cigarette…hurl the smoke…mirror…

do you want more…than…

close your eyes…and..draw the cigarette slowly…

think…mayhem around…

The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules…

you…white knight….turning…

dark knight…think vile…think madness…

Smile, because it’s easier than explaining what is killing you inside…

do you feel the madness…

I know you do…’cause

I believe… whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you…stranger…

Ha…ha…ha…
