A Song I Want to Sing

Sitting on your threshhold to sing you a song

In this soft warm evening of June, my enchantress.

The breeze that carry the promise of a spell of rain

Is the aria that pane of your windows want to rhythm in.

I want to sing a song oh my unknown temptress

Will you hear me; will you close your eyes when I’ll singing…

The long day descending slowly; the curtain dropping in slow pace

The tired summer wind bated tired curtaining your face–

With the let loose hairs of yours, blueish black of the mid-night.

Sitting at your foot want to sing a song to you, my melancholia…

See, darkness has come down; do not leave me now

As I sing to you; the evening let it be ours…do not bid…

Inspired by songs of Rabrindranath Tagore specially Tomae Gaan Shonabo.

Will share the original in Bengali soon.
