Empty Bed

Rain was torrential this evening

Wind now is cold & calm.

Kolkata is resting under the clouded sky

So as the quietitude of the night.

The last government bus zip away

Few passenger it carries are sleepy.

Am tired, also, want a sleep

But, this empty bed not letting me.

  1. Such a heaviness in the words my dear. the rains seem to soak not only the city but your heart and soul. the last line was very heart wrenching, an empty bed is as empty as the soul that occupies it. Sad but always strong poetry my Love Poet.

    1. Sometimes sadness drenched the words…but I am not satisfied with this as I had said in another comment…wrote an angry poem this morn…
