Now Not Once

Daily Prompt: Amble

We know each other;

Our paths have crossed.

August wet wind sweeping

Over me like your lips used to.

In finding comfort in own way,

We are playing snakes & ladders–

Vermilion red your counters are

Gray ash my counters are.

I amble to the once as rain sprinkle

On me–I had kept the windows open.

My vagabond soul now a sailor

Row the boats made of pages

Lines of whose are the poems

That I wrote over times.

You do not know me,

I do not know you

Now not once…
