Catharsis (Kyrielle Sonnet)

Standard

Thoughts, poet have at this moment, calling

Mind white, document blank, cursor blinking

Cigarette smoke everywhere, words laughing

Silence conquered, poet starts typing.

Thoughts are erratic and poet headstrong

Paused in interim but not for long,–

Words shuffle in mind, every minute changing.

Silence conquered, poet starts typing.

Thoughts becoming still every each bit

As words, portraying them, take seat–

In lines. Poet stop. End he searching.

Silence conquered, poet starts typing.

Thoughts, poet have at this moment, calling

Silence conquered, poet starts typing.

  1. The repetition of the line, “Silence conquered, poet starts typing.” has given it the desired effect that we often have experienced while in search of words. Ideas and perfect choice of words playing a constant hide n’ seek with us…
    A nice sonnet… 🙂
